Choosing your tent

When it comes to wilderness adventures, the choice of tent is crucial.

At Go Overland, we offer a varied selection of tents to suit different types of travelers and expeditions. Here are a few tips to help you choose the right tent for your needs.

1. Tent capacity

The first criterion to take into account is the number of seats.

Our tents are available in different sizes:

  • 2-seater tents: Ideal for couples or solo adventurers. These models are generally compact and lightweight, making them easy to transport.
  • 3-seater tents: Perfect for a family of 3, or a couple of 2 looking for as much space as at home. These tents offer more space and comfort, but are heavier and thicker.
  • 4-seater tents: Perfect for a family of 4, or 4 adults. These tents offer more space and comfort, but are heavier and thicker.

2. Your size

Wallet tents or clamshell tents, these two designs have different features, making them interesting depending on your size.

If you're under 1m85, you'll sleep comfortably in any of our tents. Above 1m85, flap tents like the Trek or the Journey may not offer you sufficient lengthwise comfort.

For greater comfort and space, we recommend our Expedition S, Expedition M and Expedition XL models.

3. Travel time

The length of your trips also influences your choice of tent.
For weekend getaways, a lighter tent such as the Trek is preferred. On the other hand, for longer trips, a more robust tent such as the Journey or Expedition S or more comfort and space like our Expedition M and Expedition XL are recommended.

4. Frequency of use

If you go camping regularly, investing in a sturdy, durable tent makes sense. Our premium tents, such as the Journey or theExpedition Mare designed to withstand a wide range of conditions and offer enhanced longevity.

For occasional use, the Trek is a very good entry-level model that will fully satisfy your needs while remaining more affordable.

5. Tent types: rigid or semi-rigid

At Go Overland, we only promote rigid roof tents because we're convinced they're more durable, easier to set up and perfect for any length of adventure.

Visit Treka semi-rigid tent. In other words, it combines a rigid structure with PVC canvas. This model is designed for adventurers looking for good value for money. Its rigid structure offers good weather resistance, while remaining easy to install.

Visit Journey, Expedition and Expedition XL are rigid tents which offer premium features with a complete structure in high-quality aluminum. They are ideal for adventurers seeking comfort and durability on their travels.

6. Included accessories

At Go Overland, it is one of our values to include all necessary accessories at no extra cost:
- Anti-condensation mats
- Removable insulating liner
- LED lighting kit
- Interior storage pockets
- Mounting kit
- Exterior shoe bags
